A staff member in the North Carolina auditor’s office used mentions of the wishes of his boss and the state Republican Party in an attempt to sway decisions on at least two counties’ early voting plans.
Hundreds of pages produced as a result of public records requests reveal the extent to which Dallas Woodhouse, a former elections liaison for state Auditor Dave Boliek, pushed for early voting sites in particular locations and against them in others.

Inflation cooled slightly in July thanks in part to a dip in gas prices, but many consumers aren’t feeling any relief.
